Vista Mall and Starmall’s Give Hope Project extends help to those affected by Typhoon Ulysses in Rizal

November 26, 2020, Province of Rizal—Vista Mall and Starmall, led by the Regional Operations Head of Vista Mall, Ms. Florence Bernardo, handed over a thousand packs of relief goods to the affected residents of Rizal. The donation and its turn-over were made possible through the help and guidance of the local government unit of Rizal. The relief packs were officially received personally by Vice Governor Rey San Juan.

The relief packs include rice, canned goods, coffee, and a hygiene kit. Each kit is good enough for two persons. These goods were pooled through the donation of Vista Mall, Starmall, and their tenants who volunteered to sponsor goods as well. These relief packs are intended for those who were severely affected by the flooding brought about by Typhoon Ulysses and were distributed to families from Brgy. San Jose, Montalban, Rizal.

The initial donation is part of Vista Mall and Starmall’s Give Hope Project. This campaign is the malls’ response to help the growing number of families affected by Typhoons Rolly, Siony, and Ulysses. Give Hope Project is a donation drive that enlists the support of Vista Mall and Starmall’s employees, partners, and customers. Donation booths are made available at the common areas of all Vista Malls, Starmalls, and Vista Lifestyle Centers, NOMO and Evia.

Vista Mall and Starmall encourage their customers from all over the country to send in their donations no matter the size or quantity. The goal in setting up the donation drive is to empower the communities these malls are a part of by providing them with an avenue to extend their help and support to those in need—without having to consider location or logistics, without the need to identify themselves, just drop off donations, whatever size and quantity they can, and the malls will take care of the rest.

Donations in the form of the following are accepted: cash, new clothes, bottled water, canned goods, medicine, sanitary products, and other essential supplies.

The next wave of donations that will be collected from the different malls will be turned over to the local government unit of Naga, for the benefit of those affected by the recent typhoons.
